Black Dog

I'm black dog Big black dog
No blue dog
No cry-for-the-moon dog
No red dog
No fire-in-the-head dog
I'm black dog Big black dog
I'm the spaces between the fires in your vast skies
I'm the silence that lies in the pupils of your eyes
I'm black dog Big black dog
No yellow dog
No shallow hello dog
No white dog
No it's-alright see-the-light dog
I'm black dog Big black dog

1996?

This piece is not to be taken literally. It is artistic in nature, and partly metaphorical. For instance depression has been referred to as the "black dog" originally by Winston Churchhill.

Never happy when anyone uses 'the black dog' reference, artistically/metaphorically.
    For relative reasons naturally.

As always, powerful, & emotive creativity from you.
    I'm a great admirer of Churchill's expression.
I questioned the validity of his relaying Shaw's prose to a depressed nation for some time, until I read 'My Early Life' properly.
A huge inspiration for me, in addressing innuendo, and suppression,
